MALIHADI was born from repeated journeys through Kenya and a deep appreciation for the country, its people, its cultures and the craftsmanship found in everyday life.

The baskets, beaded sandals, coffee, dried fruit, herbs and handmade objects encountered along the way were more than products. They reflected knowledge, creativity, traditions and a close relationship with place. MALIHADI was created to share that experience through carefully selected goods from Kenya and Tanzania.

From its base in Switzerland, MALIHADI brings East African craft, taste and nature into a contemporary European setting. The aim is not to reproduce clichés, but to present each product with clarity, respect and a verifiable account of where it comes from.

The name

MALIHADI draws inspiration from the Swahili words mali — goods, possessions and wealth — and hadi — as far as. It is a brand interpretation rather than a literal compound: the richness, stories and treasures of East Africa reaching beyond their place of origin.
